Method and apparatus for controlling an electric motor

The method involves triggering an electric motor as a function of presence of a sensor signal error in course of an emergency run. The sensor signal exists when a sequence contains a decimal equivalent that has a predetermined value, which deviates from a predetermined expectancy value. The electric motor is triggered with a substitute value that is formed for the decimal equivalent that displays the preset value. An independent claim is also included for a device to implement a method for triggering an electric motor.
