[Also in Division H2] A variable resistor comprising a resistance 83 and a wiper 90 is operable via gearing 88, 89 by a plunger 27<SP>1</SP> acted upon by a diaphragm 45. The movement of the plunger 271 is opposed by a torsion spring having a first part (23) tightly wound on a first part of a shaft (38), and a second part (20) loosely wound on a second part of the shaft, the free end 19 of the second part of the spring bearing upon the plunger. The shaft may be adjusted to vary the spring tension, and the spring has a loop 21 which is moved for calibration purposes.</p> |
