A method for raising an upper layer of leaves from the bed of a lake or watercourse to the water surface comprises carefully adding hydrogen peroxide (35 %) to the water surface at a distance of ca. 1-10 m from the waters edge, where the water is 0.5-2 m deep. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) method for oxygenating lake or sea water by adding hydrogen peroxide (35 %) to the water surface, where it comes into contact with a catalyst comprising finely divided platinum or manganese dioxide at a distance of 3-5 m above the lake or sea bed; and (2) method for eliminating Caulerpa taxifolia by adding hydrogen peroxide directly to the bed sediment, which is rapidly broken down by the liberated active oxygen. ACTIVITY : Antialgal. MECHANISM OF ACTION : None given.
|
