Disclosed herein is a use of a glucocorticoid receptor antagonist such as mifepristone in the manufacture of a medicament for inhibiting or reversing weight gain in a patient being treated with an antipsychotic medication, with the proviso that the patient be not otherwise in need of treatment with a glucocorticoid receptor antagonist and that the patient be not suffering from psychotic major depression.
