The guardrail has an upper horizontal string rail (21) fixed to upper ends of vertical posts (31, 32) fixed to the ground (S). A lower horizontal string rail (24) is arranged close to the ground. The rails (21, 24) have metal reinforcements (215, 243, 244) respectively fixing round wooden billets (211, 212, 241, 242) together. A lug (6) extends transversally to the rails and is fixed to the reinforcements of the rails.
