A glass-ceramic or glass plate, having two approximately parallel main sides, comprises a colored coating fixed to part(s) of the surface of one of the two main sides. The colored coating contains a mixture of inorganic fillers, which ensure its coloration and its mechanical reinforcement, and cross-linkable polysiloxane resin(s) which is free from precursor(s) of carbon-containing material(s), in which the fillers are distributed. An independent claim is also included for a method of preparing a plate, comprising depositing, on at least one part of the surface of a main side of a glass-ceramic plate or glass plate or of a precursor plate of such a plate, at least one layer which comprises the above specified mixture of inorganic fillers and cross-linkable polysiloxane resin(s).
