1. Method of liquidating plantations of berry shrubs, especially gooseberry and blackcurrant. It is characterised in that the over-ground parts of shrubs are mechanically fragmented and left on the field, while the rootstocks - the underground part of shrubs - are fragmented in bands in the soil and left there. Then, the entire plantation is ploughed and the fragmented organic mass is covered with soil. 2. The rooter, characterised in that it consists of: a box housing (1) with an intersecting axis gear (2); longitudinal plates (12) secured to the end of the housing (1); the partition plate (3), fitted behind the end of the housing (1) between the longitudinal plates (12) and secured to the plates; and the angle-section cross-bar (14), which binds the ends of longitudinal plates (12) at their top. Near the connection of the longitudinal plates (12) with the housing (1), the plates accommodate bushes (10) with conical openings directed towards the ends of the cross-shaft (9) of the intersecting axis gear (2). The bushes are equipped with external toothed wheels (11). The bearing housings (15) are secured in the back part of the longitudinal plates (12). The bearings support the shaft (16) equipped with pairs of flange plates (17) spaced along its length. The plates are shifted by (90 degrees) with respect to each other. The knife coulters of different shapes - (18) or (19) - are secured between the plates. The ends of the shaft (16) are equipped with toothed wheels (20), which form chain transmissions with the toothed wheels (11) on the bushes (10) and with the chains (21).
