摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator small in thickness and having high ion conductivity and high mechanical strength, and also having a shut-down effect without causing an internal short-circuit when used in a lithium ion secondary battery, for example. SOLUTION: The separator for an electronic component of this invention is made up of a fibrous sheet base and a porous structure containing fine particles of a thermoplastic resin that melts by heating, wherein pores of the porous structure have a mean pore diameter of 0.1 to 15μm, the fine particles are contained in a range of 1-50 g/m<SP>2</SP>in the separator, and a primary mean particle diameter of the fine particles falls within a range of 1 to 95% of the pore diameter.
