PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably restrain partial abrasion of a shoulder part, in a pneumatic tire for a passenger car installable on the asymmetric flange-shaped rim having a one side rim flange diameter larger than a conventional diameter. SOLUTION: This pneumatic tire has an annular swelling part having an inner peripheral side surface capable of restraining deformation of a sidewall part by abutting on an outer peripheral side curved surface of a rim flange on at least one side of the sidewall part. The apex of the swelling part is set to 55 mm or more in the height with a nominal diameter as a reference. The height from the contour of a radius of curvature appearing on a surface of the sidewall part is set to 3 mm or more. A distance Lo up to a tire equatorial line C from the vehicle installing time outside end 7a in a first belt ply 7 for constituting a belt layer 6, is set longer than a distance Li up to the tire equatorial line C from the vehicle installing time inside end 7b of the first belt ply 7.
