PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas turbine enabling an increase in rotating vibration by deforming a heat insulation pipe to follow the deformation of a countershaft during operation and a method of preventing the heat insulation pipe from being disconnected. SOLUTION: This gas turbine comprises a compressor 1 discharging compressed air by compressing air, a turbine 3 coaxially connected to the compressor 1, the countershaft 5 connecting the compressor 1 to the turbine 3 and having a center hole 5b for supplying a part of the compressed air from the compressor 1 to the turbine, a bearing 20 supporting the countershaft 5, and the heat insulation pipe 33 disposed in the center hole 5b of the countershaft 5 so that the axial position thereof corresponds to the bearing 20, forming an air layer 32 in the clearance thereof from the inner wall of the center hole 5b, and having an extension promoting means for promoting the extension of the heat insulation pipe in the radial direction during the operation.
