The device comprises one or more fixing parts (100) which are slidably mounted on the top side (206) of the pallet (200) and can be fixed into position. Each fixing part has a flat support surface resting on top of the pallet and this surface has a triangular shape when viewed from above, with two arms (102) and a nose. The fixing part contains two or more sleeves with parallel central axes extending perpendicular to the support surface. The inner and outer sides of the arms are preferably straight or concave-shaped when viewed from above. The fixing part can be rotated through 360 deg. about the sleeve central axis when not fixed into position. The pallet contains a U-shaped profile with the two arms pointing upwards between its top and bottom sides and holder bars which are flush with the top side of the pallet are (integrally) connected to the top ends of these arms. A glide bar is secured inside the profile by a nut engaged with a screw passed through a s! leeve in the fixing part. Another nut is secured to the screw head using a ratchet wrench. A washer is placed over the screw shaft in between the screw head and fixing part.
