<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizer protective film having excellent environmental resistance, retardation characteristics as an optical compensation function, excellent stability of the retardation characteristics, and good adhesion property with a polarizer. <P>SOLUTION: The polarizer protective film has a layer formed from a mixture containing a hydrophilic polymer compound and a crosslinking resin compound on at least one surface of a thermoplastic polymer film.
