<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for an outboard engine, having compact construction for obtaining torque property corresponding to the rotating region of the engine. <P>SOLUTION: The intake device 31 for the outboard engine 1 comprises an engine cover 10 covering a vertical engine 3 in which a plurality of cylinders 23 are arranged in the vertical direction and an intake manifold 36 consisting of a surge tank 39 and an intake pipe 45 and provided on one side of the engine 3.
