CONTROLLER OF DRIVE DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for improving the startability of an engine by rapidly increasing an engine rotational speed in starting the engine in a drive device for a vehicle having at least a differential mechanism as a transmission.

SOLUTION: Since the operational engagement of a first ring gear R1 with a drive wheel 38 is released when the vehicle is stopped where the power transmission route of an automatic transmission part 20 is cut off to a neutral position, a second motor M2 in addition to a first motor M1 is rotated in the same direction as the first motor M1 by an engine start control means 82 to raise the rotational speeds of a first sun gear S1 and a first ring gear R1. As a result, an engine rotational speed NE is rapidly increased to an engine ignitable rotational speed NE2 or higher to improve the startability of the engine as compared with a case in which the engine is started by raising the rotational speed of the first sun gear S1 by the first motor M1.
