<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diesel particulate filter capable of igniting and burning particulates on the diesel particulate filter (DPF) at a lower temperature. <P>SOLUTION: Coat layers 7 containing ZrO<SB>2</SB>-Y<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>multiple oxide which has oxygen ion conductivity is formed on the wall surface of an exhaust gas flow path of DPF.
