PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner which has simple and inexpensive constitution and capable of reducing EMI radiation. SOLUTION: A wire 14 in which the outer periphery of a conductive core 24 is covered with a coating layer 25 is linked to a runner 11 mounting a light source used to read a document image thereon, and the wire 14 is moved to move the runner 11 along a document.
