The steering device includes a radar source (11) for producing beams, and an adjustable reflector (12) for deflecting the beams produced. The frequency of the beams is in the range 100 GHz to 10 THz. The reflector is larger than the wavelength of the radiation and is adjusted by rotation. An independent claim is included for a digital micromirror component.
