<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a card payment system by which a communication cost and processing time for small amount payment by a credit card are saved and a loss caused by fraudulent use, or the like is reduced to the minimum. <P>SOLUTION: A card number allowing no payment is transmitted as negative information to the POS (Point of Sale) register terminal 18 of a member store from the host computer 14 of a card company. The POS register terminal 18 displays payment rejection when the credit card number of a customer fall into the negative information. The POS register terminal 18 also displays the payment rejection when the spending amount of the customer is a post-payment limited amount or more. When the spending amount falls in the balance of a post-payment limit stored on the card or more, the POS register terminal 18 transmits a charge request for the limit to the host computer 14, and subtracts the spending amount portion by adding a charge amount portion to the balance on the card when a telegraphic message allowing charge is transmitted from the host computer 14. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
