<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To constitute EL elements constituting icons mutually different by display areas or emission colors so that they can be drives for light emission by utilizing a general-purpose driver IC and a reverse bias voltage can be periodically applied to them. <P>SOLUTION: Current adjustment resistances R101 to R104 are connected in parallel correspondingly to EL elements E1 to E4 constituting icons, and resistance values of current adjustment resistances R101 to R104 are properly selected to properly adjust emission luminance of respective EL elements E1 to E4. In an all extinction period when all the EL elements E1 to E4 are extinguished, an analog switch S201 is turned off, and an analog switch S202 is turned on. Thus anode sides of all the EL elements E1 to E4 are set to a ground potential, and a reverse bias voltage is applied to all the EL elements E1 to E4. The emission lifetime of EL elements E1 to E4 can be prolonged by periodic application of this reverse bias voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
