<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission method in which a token is controlled in a communication network. <P>SOLUTION: The network includes a plurality of nodes mutually coupled so that a ring topology is formed. These nodes support data transmission on the network using the token. Since the data are transmitted and received on the network, each node may process a control message. The node receives a token for authenticating transmission by one of a plurality of data channels, generates a transmission control message for identifying a destination node and a authenticated data channel, and notifies the transmission control message in preparation for the reception by the destination node.
