<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a tapered roller bearing the agitation resistance of lubricant increases and larges the rotational torque of the bearing so that the fuel consumption of an automobile equipped with the bearing is made worse. <P>SOLUTION: When an opening area of a cylindrical hole on the lubricant inflow side between an outer ring 1 and an inner ring 2 and on the side of the inner ring 2 apart from a holder 5, is shown by Si and the value of Si/So is set to fulfill the equation 0.1≤Si/So≤0.6 where an opening area of the cylindrical hole on the side of the outer ring 1 apart from the holder 5 is shown by So.
