PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a discharge lamp lighting circuit in which life-prolongation of a discharge lamp can be realized and miniaturization and reduction of a cost or the like can be realized. SOLUTION: This is the discharge lamp lighting device in which DC voltage exceeding dielectric breakdown voltage of an HID lamp 8 from AC voltage boosted by DC-AC inverter circuit part 2 or superimposed voltage is formed wherein pulsating flow component is superimposed on the AC voltage, and which is constituted so that discharge is made to start by applying the direct-current voltage or the superimposed voltage to the HID lamp 8. By this, compared with the case to apply a high voltage of a short pulse to the HID lamp 8, the longer life-prolongation of the HID lamp 8 can be realized. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
