摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device capable of moving an optical pickup along two guide rails and executing recording/reproducing by irradiating, with a laser beam, the recording surface of a disk loaded on a turntable to rotate, and preventing shocks caused by the collision of the gudie rails with a support member when the optical pickup unit movers over the range. SOLUTION: This disk device is provided with the structure of absorbing shocks of an optical pickup unit, where both ends of main and sub guide rails 16 and 17 are supported by fixed support members 21a and 21b and movable support members 22a and 22b made of resins and integrally formed in the chassis 15 of a traverse unit, buffer pieces 23a, 23b and 24a are erected vertically to the chassis 15 to damp shocks when an optical pickup unit 18 moves, and the buffer pieces 23a, 23b and 24a are integrally formed with the fixed support members 21a and 21b and the movable support members 22a and 22b in gaps 25 between the main guide rail 16 and the chassis and between the sub guide rail 17 and the chassis.
