PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document management method and device for managing the presence/absence of alternation for reuse data for reusing a document printed once. SOLUTION: A job inputted from a scanner 3 or a client 4 is accepted by a job receiving part 11, and the job is transferred to a printer 2 by a job transferring part 17, and output data used for the processing of the job are stored in an output data storage part 12 with a log describing the processing contents of the job. In this case, a time stamp generation part 13 generates a certificate including at least a hash value to be generated based on output data stored in the output data storage part 12, and the generated certificate is stored so as to be associated with the output data in the output data storage part 12.
