PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystalline compound having large spirally inductive force, excellent in solubility to other liquid crystal compound and having polymerizability, and a polymer. SOLUTION: A compound is represented by formula (1) [Q<SP>1</SP>to Q<SP>4</SP>are each independently formula (2) (wherein A is 1,4-cyclohexylene or the like; X is an alkylene; Z is COO or the like; P is one group selected from eight kinds of polymerizable groups), hydrogen, a halogen, an alkyl or the like].
