IMPACT ENERGY ABSORPTION BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact energy absorption body for an automobile formed with a plurality of shock-absorbing areas having different energy absorption abilities and being easily manufactured in order to satisfy both requirements of protection of a pedestrian and protection of the automobile relative to the impact at collision. SOLUTION: The impact energy absorption body as a shock-absorbing member for the automobile comprises a hollow body comprising a blow molded product of a thermoplastic plastic material; and a foaming body filling material filling the inside thereof. The hollow body forms a plurality of closed chambers (4a, 4b, 4c, 4d) and the insides of the closed chambers are filled with the foaming body filling material. The foaming body filling material in at least one part of the closed chamber has the impact energy absorption ability different from the foaming body filling material in the other closed chamber.
