PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metallic mold device for casting and a method for applying a mold releasing agent which realize prevention of the excess stickiness of the mold releasing agent to the outer peripheral surface of a core pin being the applying object and also realize uniform application of the mold releasing agent onto the whole peripheral surface of the core pin. SOLUTION: The metallic mold device for casting is provided with metallic mold main bodies (11, 12) demarcating a cavity C, a pin holder part 20 for holding the core pin 40 so as to be advanceable/retractable to/from the cavity C and a mold releasing agent applying mechanism arranged in the pin holder part 20. The mold releasing agent applying mechanism is provided with guiding passages (23, 27) for guiding the mold releasing agent and compressed from the outside and a ring-shaped porous body 30 disposed near the outlet of the guiding passage. The porous body 30 is arranged so as to surround the core pin 40 being the applying object and also be opposite to, in non-contact state, the outer peripheral surface of the core pin 40.
