PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining material for a vacuum valve, which inexpensively improves various electric characteristics, such as withstand voltage characteristics, of a vacuum valve, to provide a joining method using the same material, and to provide a vacuum valve using the same material. SOLUTION: In order to prevent a contact joined in partial assembly from falling off from an electrode or to prevent a shield and a support from being separated at the time of the 2nd heat treatment for manufacturing the vacuum valve, the joining material for a vacuum valve, which is used for partial assembly of the valve, is composed of a brazing filler metal, such as Cu-10Ag, Cu-25Ag, Cu-50Ag. The viscosity coefficient of the brazing filler metal in a liquid phase is made≥1×10<SP>-3</SP>Pa s at 820°C. Thereby, various electric characteristics, such as withstand voltage characteristics, of the vacuum valve is inexpensively improved without the use of an expensive noble metal element other than Ag.
