PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion treatment method for a liquid to be dispersed capable of being suitably used for the treatment of a magnetic body used for manufacturing a recording medium capable of performing high-density recording and a magnetic liquid containing abrasives particles, and a device. SOLUTION: The dispersion treatment device 10 for the liquid to be dispersed is provided with a liquid tank 12, a dispersing machine 14 and a piping material. The device is provided with a feed pipe 16; a discharge pipe 18; an advancement side pipe 20 for connecting a liquid discharge port 12B of the liquid tank or the feed pipe and a liquid feed port 14A of the dispersion machine; a first switching means 24 for connecting a liquid discharge port of the liquid tank, the feed pipe and the advancement side pipe; a return side pipe 22 for connecting the liquid discharge port 14B of the dispersion machine or the discharge pipe and the liquid feed part 12A of the liquid tank; and a second switching means 26 for connecting the liquid discharge port of the dispersion machine, the discharge pipe and the return side pipe. Liquid feeding from the feed pipe to the liquid tank, liquid circulation between the liquid tank and the dispersion machine and liquid discharging from the liquid tank to the discharge pipe can be switched by operating the first and second switching means.
