NEW DEODORIZING PAPER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new deodorizing paper capable of indicating a sufficient deodorization effect by a slight amount of deodorization components and being widely utilized as various kinds of deodorization materials as well. SOLUTION: The deodorizing paper is composed of fibrillated cellulose fibers to which metal silver colloid obtained by reduction under the presence of a cationic surfactant is deposited at least at a rate of 0.001 mass %. It is manufactured by bringing the fibrillated cellulose fibers into contact with a water soluble silver compound of at least 0.001 mass % of the cellulose fibers expressed in terms of metal silver in a water medium containing the cationic surfactant, adding complex metal hydride to cause a reduction action, generating the metal silver colloid and combining the colloid with the cellulose fibers.
