<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which the number of installed toner image forming means can be changed according to the needs of a user. <P>SOLUTION: In a color laser printer 10, a printer frame 52 is composed such that small printer-frames 38Y, 38M, 38K, and 38C supporting toner image forming means such as photoreceptors 22 are detachably connected.
