<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developer for electrostatic latent image development and an image forming method, such that developer volume density is stable, regardless of the environment and toner density is controlled to obtain superior images over a long period. <P>SOLUTION: The developer, which contains a toner and a carrier and is for toner density control using magnetic permeability variation, has a titanium compound A on the toner surface and a titanium compound B on the carrier surface, and has a toner shape coefficient (SF1) of 115 to 140; a lower quantity granularity distribution index of the toner satisfying lower GSDp=D50p/D16p≤1.27 [where D50p is the grain size value at which accumulation bis 50% from a toner grain size quantity distribution small-diameter side and D16p is the grain size value, at which accumulation is 16%]; 1×10<SP>9</SP>Ωcm ≤Rv≤5×10<SP>12</SP>Ωcm [where Rv is the volume resistivity of the carrier at 10,000 V/cm field strength]; and 100×R(A)<R(B) [where R(A) and R(B) are volume resistivity values of the titanium compounds A and B at 10,000 V/cm field strength]. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
