<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a retaining method for a ceramic filter capable of certainly retaining the ceramic filter even at usage at a higher temperature area (for example, approximately 500-600°C), preventing damage to the filter by vibration and impact and retaining sealing property between the ceramic filter and an outer frame made of a metal, and a filter pack. <P>SOLUTION: The ceramic filter 4 in which the whole of a side surface is covered with a sealing material 2, the sealing material 2 is compressed by the outer frame 5 made of the metal from the whole of the side surfaces and a uniform surface pressure is retained.
