PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that half-depression of button is troublesome and is apt to be an operation of high difficulty level for a beginner though techniques have been disclosed which perform a focusing operation only in response to half-depression of a two-step button capable of being half depressed in order to suppress the power consumption which is made higher by always performing the focusing operation against movement of a subject. SOLUTION: This imaging device has an imaging device, a target signal acquisition part for acquiring a signal of a prescribed area on the imaging device, a time measuring par for measuring time, a determination part for determining whether an object stays in the prescribed area within a first measurement time or not, and a focusing operation part for performing the focusing operation to the object in the case of a determination result of the determination part, which indicates that the subject stays there.
