PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior solvent removing method of reducing the amount of a solvent in a colored resin composition containing a polyester resin as a binding resin; to provide a method for manufacturing the colored resin composition using the solvent removing method; and further to provide a new manufacturing method of efficiently removing an organic solvent used by the manufacturing method for the wet process toner containing the polyester resin as the binding resin. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the solvent removing method of removing the organic solvent (A) from the colored resin composition containing one or more kinds of organic solvent (A) selected out of methyl ethyl ketone, toluene, and ethyl acetate, the solvent removing method being characterized in that the colored resin composition is a resin composition having a coloring agent dispersed in the polyester resin and then dipped in a liquid medium containing one or more kinds of organic solvent (B) selected out of acetone and isopropyl alcohol to swell the colored resin composition and then the organic solvent (A) is removed together with the organic solvent (B).
