PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a computing processing load small when a train control pattern is created using average gradient of a track in view of length of the train. SOLUTION: This train controlling device creates a train control pattern in view of gradient information when there is a gradient to a target stop position, and controls an operation in a manner that the train travels along the created train control pattern. The device has a leading position average gradient computing means for computing a leading position average gradient, namely an average gradient between the leading position of the train and the target stop position; a trail position average gradient computing means for computing the trail position average gradient, namely an average gradient between the trail position of the train and the target stop position; a selection means for comparing the computed leading position average gradient and the trail position average gradient and selecting the gradient with longer braking distance; and a train control pattern creating and controlling means for creating the train control pattern in view of the selected gradient information.
