PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means of improving the quality of a voice after speaker's voice quality conversion. SOLUTION: When an LPC coefficient of a speech to be converted that a speaker (speaker A) utters before conversion is converted to an LPC coefficient space of a speaker (speaker B) after conversion based upon a moving vector, feature data of the speaker before conversion which is at the shortest distance to the LPC coefficient converted to the LPC coefficient space of the speaker after conversion based upon the moving vector are found and then the found LPC coefficient of the speaker after conversion is used as an LPC coefficient of the speech to be converted after conversion to synthesize the speech based upon the LPC coefficient after conversion and unit waveform corresponding pulses obtained from the speech data of the speaker after conversion. Further, the LPC coefficient space is made into a code book and divided into a plurality of areas as a method of reducing a calculation quantity and distance calculation is carried out in an area where an LPC coefficient to be processed is present or an area nearby it.
