PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the configuration of an intermittent cap sterilizing device to sterilize the inner side of a cap 2 by tumbling a container 4 on a conveyor 6 by a container falling device 10. SOLUTION: A container tumbling means 10A to tumble the container 4 is arranged on the side of the conveyor 6 to continuously convey the containers 4. A container tumbling means 10A comprises a guide rail 26A to hoist the container 4 by locking with its flange 4c and a barrel support guide 18 to support a barrel 4a of the container 4. A rotary stopper 8 is provided which feeds the container 4 to the container tumbling means 10A and stops the succeeding containers 4. When the containers 4 of the predetermined number are fed to the container tumbling means 10A, the container tumbling means 10A tumbles the containers 4, and brings a content liquid into contact with the inner side of the cap 2.
