PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a potter's wheel device for ceramic art which can detect in advance the rotation speed change or stop behavior of a drive motor and a turntable so as not to damage the work during manufacturing or lose a manufacturing time in a ceramic art operation by an operator. SOLUTION: The potter's wheel device is provided with an electrothermal device 40 for detecting the existence of overload in a drive motor 11 by comparing the detection value of a current passing through the drive circuit 38 of the motor 11 with the upper limit current value stored in an upper limit current-storing part 51, an indicator 25 for indicating the result detected by the electrothermal device 40, and a voice generator 26.
