The screw driver has a sleeve (18) which holds the shaft (10) and screws with same. The distal region of the shaft is formed split in the outer multi-facet head (16) in a plane of symmetry. The two split halves of the shaft have opposite run-up inclines. The sleeve has a run-up ring (22) acting on the inclines so that when the sleeve is turned relative to the shaft the split halves of the shaft are sheared away from each other jamming the internal multi-facet recess (10) with the multi angled head (16). The shaft is split parallel to two planar faces of the multi-angle.
