<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the objective evaluation of an image and to quantitatively evaluate jitter having no periodicity from the data of an evaluation result. <P>SOLUTION: The image evaluation apparatus is equipped with an image input part 3 for reading an image to be measured as two-dimensional multivalue image data, an integral calculation part 7 for averaging the read image data in a horizontal direction to form a first unidimensional integral data sequence in a vertical direction, a numerical value converting part 8 for numerically converting the first unidimensional integral data calculated by the integral calculation part 7 to form a second unidimensional integral data sequence, a difference calculating part 9 for calculating the difference between the first and second unidimensional integral data squences to form a third unidimensional data sequence and a jitter quantity calculation part 10 for calculating the jitter quantity from the feature quantity of the third unidimensional data sequence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
