<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remove toner sticking on the surface of an endless belt 10 while securing releasability, temperature increasing performance and durability as desired ones. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming machine is provided with a fixing apparatus 230 having a fixing roller 2, a pressure roller 4, and the endless belt 10 for heating the fixing roller 2 from the outside when a certain area on the surface of the belt 10 is brought in press contact with a certain area on the surface of the fixing roller 2, and a controller for controlling the fixing apparatus 230. The releasability and the material quality of the surface of the endless belt 10 is substantially the same as those of the surface of the fixing roller 2. The fixing apparatus is controlled by the controller so that the surface temperature of the endless belt 10 may become higher than that of the fixing roller 2 while at least the paper P is passing through the fixing apparatus 230 in regular image formation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
