PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal mold for cutting a film liquid crystal device and a cutting machine that realize sure cutting and exert no influence on optical characteristics, when the film liquid crystal device is machined. SOLUTION: The metal mold for cutting is provided which has a cutting blade 3, formed in a shape for cutting the film liquid crystal display device and a press part 4 pressing the film liquid crystal device, when the film liquid crystal device is cut with the cutting blade 3, wherein the press part 4 is formed with an abutting part 4 which presses only the part of a seal member forming a frame of the film liquid crystal device, the inside of the abutting part 4 being formed with a recessed part 7, which does not abut against the film liquid crystal device. Further, the cutting metal mold 1 is held by an top-mold holding part from above, and the cutting metal mold 1 is pressed against the film liquid crystal device placed on a table part to cut it.
