PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide aβ-amyloid toxicity relaxing agent which exhibits a large effect in suppressing Alzheimer's disease and has no problem with safeness. SOLUTION: Theβ-amyloid toxicity relaxing agent contains an actomyosin decomposition product as an active component. The actomysin decomposition product is prepared by subjecting actomyosin extracted from animal muscle, especially pig skeletal muscle, to enzymolysis in the presence of a protease, such as papain, phytin, pepsin, trypsin,α-chymotrypsin, thermolysin, pronase, or bromelain. An especially preferable actomyosin decomposition product is prepared by decomposing actomyosin in water of a pH of 3-12 in the presence of papain and taking out such a part of the resultant decomposition product that the part has a molecular weight of 10,000 or lower.
