PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for composting garbage which is suitable for domestic use. SOLUTION: The apparatus 1 for composting the domestic garbage is provided with: a fermentation vessel 10 provided with a cylindrical part 10a composed of a cylindrical paper tube, a side surface part 10b and a cover part 10c capable of being attached and detached; a mounting base 20 mounted below the fermentation vessel 10 and provided with a compost receiving tray 24, a base plate 21 on which a compost discharge port 23 is formed and a plurality of rollers 25a supporting the cylindrical part 10a rotatably; and a wedge capable of being inserted between the cylindrical part 10a and base plate 21 to fix the fermentation vessel 10 not to rotate when the garbage is charged into or the compost is taken out from the fermentation vessel 10.
