PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plankton culture system enabling the culture efficiency of plankton to be improved through avoiding the variation or deviation in its concentration in a culture tank during its culture by a simple scheme, and also capable of changeover between continuous culture and batch culture modes as necessary. SOLUTION: The system has the following construction and mechanism: The culture tank 2 and a collection tank 3 are connected with each other via an introducing pipe 36 and a returning pipe 37 to construct a circulating path. A plankton net 32 is set in the collection tank 3 and the primary side region of the net 32 is made to communicate with the circulating path. When plankton is under culture, it is circulated together with a culture fluid through the circulating path, and concurrently, part of the culture fluid introduced into the collection tank 3 is filtered onto the secondary side of the plankton net 32 and discharged out of the circulating path.
