<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement switching of transmission paths, without occupying the band of a network. <P>SOLUTION: When detecting interruption of a transmission path of an active system transmission path, connected to a reception node on the basis of a reception state of a main signal and a connection inspection signal, one transmission path switching apparatus inserts a control signal denoting a transmission path switching request between the main signals, releases the connection between the reception node and the active system transmission path to connect the reception node to a standby system transmission path. When receiving a control signal, denoting a transmission path switching request from the one transmission path switching apparatus, the other transmission path switching apparatus stops the transmission operation of the main signal to the one transmission path switching apparatus and releases the connection between a transmission node and the active system transmission path to connect the transmission node to the standby system transmission path. Since transmission of the control signal inserted between the main signals gives does not affect the main signals transmitted to the other transmission path switching apparatus, a transmission path switching system can execute transmission path switching, without occupying the band of the network. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
