<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that a mechanism using a belt for the drive transmission mechanism of driving a photoreceptor drum uses a metal belt generally heretofore, but the rigidity of the belt is too high, and then, the bending stress easily exceeds an allowable value, then, it is difficult to reduce the diameter of a pulley, on the other hand, if the rigidity is reduced and Young's modulus is reduced too much, it is difficult to prevent the meandering of the belt on the pulley. <P>SOLUTION: The surface in contact with the belt 19 of the pulley 21 is formed to a crown shape. Regarding the tension distribution on the contact surface when a prescribed tension is applied between the belt 19 and the pulley 21, a tension difference between the center part and each end part is not very large in the case the Young's modulus of the belt 19 is low, on the other hand, in the case the Young's modulus is high, the tension difference is comparatively increased.
