<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmitter, a data receiver, a data communication system, and data transmission method and reception method in which the load on the apparatus or the network can be lessened. <P>SOLUTION: In case of a continuous packet specified with a constant transmission interval (step 105), a data transmitter transmits that packet (step 106) and a data receiver measures a delay based on that transmission interval and the reception interval of each packet.
