PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for preventing erroneous report on gas flow rate information, allowing accurate reading of a numeral in a gas meter, and to provide an operation method by the system. SOLUTION: Two small magnets 4 are disposed inside a metering rotary disk 21 of the gas meter, an N-pole magnet 41 is disposed such that the N-pole magnet 41 is oriented to the outside of the rotary disk in behalf of N poles of the magnets, and an S-pole magnet 42 is disposed such that the S-pole magnet 42 is oriented outward in behalf of S poles of the magnets. A magnetic sensor 3 includes magnetic sensor means of the N pole and the S pole, and the N-pole magnet 41 and the S-pole magnet 42 passively rotate according to the rotary disk 21 of the gas meter.
